FAQ

The questions we get asked.

What does a Custom Shop Martin cost?
Builds range from about $5,000 for a traditional spec to $50,000+ for premium tonewoods, intricate inlay, rare appointments. Once we spec it, you'll have an exact quote before anything goes to Martin.
How long does the build take?
About 4 months from order to delivery. Premium woods or complex inlays can push it. We give you a target date upfront.
Is the Nazareth trip really included?
Yes. We drive the Bros van round-trip from our shop. Day trip — leave morning, back by night. Private factory tour. You meet the people who built it.
Can I bring my partner or kids?
Yes, space permitting in the van. Tell us when you spec the build so we plan the seats.
What if I don't know exactly what I want?
That's most people. The conversation is us walking you through tone woods, body shapes, tradeoffs. Bring guitars you've loved — reference points help.
Can I do this if I'm not in NYC?
Initial conversations on phone or video. But the whole point is the trip — everyone who's done a build has come on it. You make your way to NYC, we drive from there.
Who else does this?
Honestly? Nobody we know of. There are Custom Shop dealers all over the country. There's no other shop turning the order into a road trip with the customer.
