- Set up on our bench: fresh strings, intonated, electronics checked

This is the 335 sound that made the model. The neck pickup is round and vocal without going muddy, the bridge has that laminated-maple snap and bite, and the middle position does the clean, airy chime semi-hollows are famous for. Unplugged it rings and sustains the way a good 335 should.
The neck is a comfortable, medium-round 1968 profile with the narrower 1 9/16" nut Gibson used in the late 60s, which a lot of players find faster than the earlier wide-nut necks. Frets have plenty of life, and it plays in tune up the neck with the original ABR-1 and trapeze.
Plenty of late-60s 335s have changed tuners, swapped pickups, a repaired headstock or a stop-tail conversion. This one is the way it left Kalamazoo. Every photo is this guitar, and we are happy to send more of any area you want to see.
