This 1993 Fender American Standard Stratocaster is a seriously cool piece of early-'90s Fender history, finished in a beautiful Ocean Turquoise that looks absolutely killer against the rosewood fingerboard. Made in the USA and in great condition for its age, this is a classic American Strat from an era that has become increasingly sought after by players who love the feel and sound of Fender's '80s and '90s American Standards. The guitar features an alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, a comfortable 9.5" fingerboard radius and Fender's two-point American Standard tremolo system. The three pickups are the original Fender American Standard single coils, with a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup that helps cancel hum in the classic "in-between" positions 2 and 4. It also features Fender's TBX tone control for the middle and bridge pickups, which gives you some additional control over the guitar's top end and makes an already versatile Strat even more flexible. Plug it in and all the classic Strat sounds are right there: a warm, rounded neck pickup for blues and soulful leads, crisp and funky middle-position sounds, that unmistakable glassy "quack" in positions 2 and 4, and plenty of bite and cut from the bridge pickup when it's time to turn things up. Roll back the volume and it cleans up beautifully, dig in and it responds with that percussive attack and sparkle that has made the Stratocaster one of the most recorded electric guitars in history. The tremolo adds everything from a little shimmer on chords to more dramatic bends and dips, while the contoured body and double-cutaway design make it an incredibly comfortable guitar to play. There's a reason players ranging from Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck gravitated toward Strats: the design can move from clean and funky to bluesy, atmospheric and straight-up rock & roll without ever losing its identity. With its Ocean Turquoise finish, rosewood board, original American Standard electronics and unmistakable early-'90s Fender vibe, this is a great example of a USA-made Strat that's ready to keep doing what Strats do best: plug in, turn up and make some noise.
