2013 Fender American Standard Stratocaster – Olympic White

Peace, love, and a whole lot of Stratocaster. This 2013 Fender American Standard Stratocaster was made in the USA and comes dressed in the timeless Olympic White finish—a color that immediately brings to mind one of the most iconic images in rock & roll history. You know the one: Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, white Strat in hand, turning “The Star-Spangled Banner” into something from another planet. While this isn’t a Hendrix reissue, Olympic White will forever have a little bit of that Woodstock magic baked into it.

Built around the classic Strat recipe, this American Standard features a solid alder body paired with a maple neck, a comfortable Modern “C” profile, 25.5" scale length, 9.5" fingerboard radius, and 22 medium-jumbo frets. Fender’s two-point synchronized tremolo with bent-steel saddles gives you everything from a little psychedelic shimmer to full-on dive-bomb freakouts, while the staggered tuners and modern American construction make it a dependable player whether you’re heading to the studio, the stage, or a field full of 400,000 hippies.

One of the coolest features of this era of American Standard Strat is the factory set of three Fender Custom Shop Fat ’50s single-coil pickups. They deliver that unmistakable Strat vocabulary: sparkling, bell-like neck tones, funky and hollow “quack” in positions 2 and 4, a clear and punchy middle pickup, and a bridge pickup that can cut through a band with plenty of bite. Roll things back and you’ve got beautiful clean blues, soul, funk, surf and psychedelic textures; crank up an amp or fuzz pedal and it’ll happily head into Hendrix, Gilmour and classic-rock territory.

That versatility is really what makes a great Strat a great Strat. The five-way selector, master volume and dual tone controls give you an enormous range without making things complicated. Glassy cleans, warm blues leads, funky rhythm chops, jangly indie tones, screaming rock leads and fuzzed-out late-’60s psychedelia are all right there. Add some spring reverb, a little Uni-Vibe, maybe a fuzz pedal, and things can get wonderfully weird very quickly.

Finished in classic Olympic White and proudly made in the USA, this 2013 American Standard captures the sweet spot between vintage Fender character and modern playability. It’s comfortable, expressive, incredibly versatile and unmistakably a Stratocaster. Plug it in, turn it up, and let your freak flag fly.
