Kustom is the Kansas company Bud Ross built on tuck-and-roll amplifiers, and for two years in the late 60s it also built one of the strangest and best-looking guitars of the decade, the K200. Rickenbacker body, Mosrite attitude, a fan-shaped headstock nobody else has ever used. Originals are rare and expensive. This is Eastwood's K-200 DLX, their faithful tribute, in the red cherry burst they offered on the first run.
Double-cut thinline body with real f-holes, bound top and f-holes, two vintage-voiced D-style (DeArmond-style) pickups with a 3-way switch and separate volume and tone for each, a roller tune-o-matic, and a licensed Bigsby B50 that stays in tune because of that roller bridge. Set maple neck, bound rosewood board with dots, 25.5 inch scale and a 1 11/16 inch nut, so it plays like a Fender and sounds like a hollowbody. The flared Kustom headstock carries the Eastwood logo.
Sound: the D-style pickups are brighter and clearer than humbuckers, with a snap on the bridge and a chime on the neck that suits surf, garage, jangle, indie and roots. It is light, it balances, and it stops people on the wall. This one is clean, from a one-owner collection, with no issues found.
