Camp Overview: Get ready to rock this summer at our Classic Rock Music Camp! Hosted at the historic Hungarian House Music Hall located at 213 East 82nd st. , this camp is designed for young musicians aged 10-17 who are eager to explore the monumental sounds of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Under the guidance of Bryan Walters, a distinguished music teacher and member of the NYC funk band The Phryg, campers will learn the fundamentals of classic rock through hands-on training and live performance.

• Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19

Daily Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, culminating in a live recital

Detailed Daily Schedule (Monday to Thursday):

• 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Arrival and Warm-up

  • Campers gather at Hungarian House Music Hall for instrument tuning and introductory activities.

• 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Exploring Classic Rock

  • Bryan Walters leads an interactive session focusing on the history and evolution of classic rock, with special emphasis on influential bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

• 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Instrument Workshops

  • Campers attend workshops tailored to their instrument of choice—guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, or vocals—focusing on techniques specific to classic rock.

• 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break

  • Campers are encouraged to bring their own lunches and enjoy some downtime with peers, discussing music and more.

• 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Band Practice

Friday Schedule: Extended Day for Performance Preparation and Recital

• 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Full Band Rehearsal

  • Campers spend the morning in final rehearsals, integrating all they've learned throughout the week into their performance pieces.

• 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch Break

  • A final lunch break before the commencement of the recital preparations.

• 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Dress Rehearsal

  • Campers dress in their performance attire and participate in a full run-through of the evening’s performance, making final adjustments as needed.

• 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Rest and Final Touches

  • A brief period for rest and relaxation before the show, with motivational guidance and last-minute tips from Bryan.

• 5:00 PM: Commencement Recital

  • The culmination of the week’s efforts, the recital features performances of classic rock songs by the campers, showcasing their newly acquired skills to family, friends, and music enthusiasts gathered at the Hungarian House Music Hall.
